Their journey into hairstyling began with a simple yet profound realization – witnessing the transformative power a hairstyle change can have on someone’s self-esteem, confidence, and self-expression.
Among the countless salon moments, one memory never fails to bring a smile to their face – the look of utter confusion on a young client’s son’s face the first time he saw highlights fresh out of the foils!
If Maria were a hair superhero, their superpower of choice would be the ability to stop and reverse hair loss/thinning, a common concern affecting many individuals across genders.
Passionate about embracing natural textures and reducing reliance on heat styling, Maria enjoys experimenting with various hairstyles and trends. When asked about dream celebrity clients, Maria is torn between two iconic figures – Cher for her versatility and Lady Gaga for her daring and ever-changing looks.
However, Maria]’s proudest moments come from hair makeover transformations that extend beyond the salon chair, like helping a loved one restore their hair after illness-induced damage.
Always striving to enhance their skills, Maria has recently completed training courses like the Eufora 2-Day Precision Cutting Core Shapes and MK Hair Botox Certification, adding to their extensive educational background, which includes graduation from the 2-Year Hairstyling Program at Algonquin College, along with additional courses from industry leaders like Redken and Vidal Sassoon.
Outside of the salon, Maria unwinds with DIY projects, baking, and indulging in some guilty pleasure reality TV. And when it’s time to jet off, Thailand beckons Maria with its captivating beaches, abundant wildlife, and delectable cuisine.
